.
On Sunday it was lovely meeting my local group of the BCSS (British Cactus + Succulent Society) at Laurie’s house where he was showing us his greenhouses full of his cacti collections. There were also sale tables of various succulents, some of which I photographed. Please see the photographs below.
I ended up buying 9 x little ones to take home with me.
The plants left over are to be going on the BCSS table at the Gorleston CliffTop Festival this coming weekend.
It was great meeting the other members who were very welcoming. (The reason John and I missed them at the monthly meeting was because they had a fish and chip evening at someone’s house and the details hadn’t been verified on the club page and my email wasn’t working to receive the latest group updates).
The last photo is included in this post because we found it funny finding a ladybird stuck in John’s chest fluff. We’d never seen a yellow one before!

Wendi, gosh, I could never house all of them lol, I’d need a huge greenhouse. (A greenhouse is something on my wish list, if I ever get that far). I bought only 9 small plants which I haven’t photographed yet. And, yes, they are beautiful :))) Have a lovely week xo

Haha@ “chest fluff.” I thought that was quite hilarious. It looks like you’ve gotten yourself quite the pickings there, Faith! That’s a lot of cacti!

Tre, you know I didn’t buy them ALL don’t you? Hehe. Just 9 small ones which I haven’t photographed yet. π xo

I remember you mentioning buying 9 in your “Thankful” post. That’s still a lot to choose from, which is why I was saying “you have gotten yourself quite the pickings there.” Lol. I don’t have a green thumb at all. Any plant in my care will surely die.

Ohhh I see lol. Tre, I didn’t want you to think I was greedy π
Cacti and succulents are very hard to kill, they like neglect. The store their water in their bodies unlike other plants. xo

That’s what they tell me. I think, they have to be pretty strong to survive the desert, but I’d kill one for sure. Lol. I’m just joking, mostly. Lol.

PS. Which are your faves?

I was exaggerating a bit (about being a BIG fan), but my faves are the opuntia (prickly pear) and beavertail. π
